Reiki is a 3000 year old healing art that connects the energy around us with the body's own nature to attain balance on a physical, emotional and spiritual levels. Reiki is a method of holistic healing that complements traditional and alternative treatments. Brooklyn Women's Services will offer this monthly Reiki Healing Circles lead by Reiki Master Margaret DeAngelis. The fee per session is $10. Space is limited, registration is required. Teen Parent Support Group
Teen Parenting Support Group - Wednesdays at 10 a.m. beginning March 7th. This 8-week group is for parents of teenage children (Ages 12 –15) to help improve parenting skills and build better relationships with their adolescent children. $20 fee per session applies.

In honor of American Diabetes Alert Day,we will discuss meal planning strategies for those who have Type II Diabetes. Topics discussed include carbohydrate sources and portion sizes, as well as strategies to help manage hypo- and hyperglycemia.

16th Annual Focus on Women Symposium
Brooklyn Women's Services will celebrate Women's History Month with the 16th Annual Focus on Women Symposium on Saturday, March 10th at 9:00 am.
This year's theme is "Reinvent Yourself: Create a Blueprint for Your Future" and the speaker is Rosemary A. Bova, President and Founder of Bova Enterprises, Inc. Ms. Bova will present an interactive workshop designed to give women "The Courage to Be!"
The fee is $10 per person and includes continental breakfast and a writing journal. The event will take place at Sirico's Restaurant located at 8023 13th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11228.

In honor of National Osteoporosis Awareness Month, we will review dietary tips to help preserve bone health and muscle mass. The discussion will include ways to incorporate more calcium and vitamin D into your diet as well as special considerations for women over 50 who may have higher risk for developing bone disease post-menopause.
